Douglas WILLIS Obituary

WILLIS, Douglas An associate at Stanley Electric and life-long resident of Springfield, OH, died unexpectedly on June 30, 2017 at the age of 50 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Doug is survived by his three children, Erica Willis, Donnie Willis, and RaShauna Watts; one granddaughter, Avery Watts; his siblings, Stephanie (John) Edwards, Joi Macfarlane Debra Cline, and Barry Cockran. He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents. Doug was born in Springfield on February 24, 1967 to Edward James Willis and Ruth Marlene Willis. He graduated from North High School in 1985. Doug was a devoted father and avid football fan. He enjoyed watching all sports, but especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and his beloved Cleveland Browns. He loved attending the local high school games and he often played poker. He could be seen many nights at his favorite sports bar, BW3's or down at the Buckeye Lodge. He coached little league football and was an active member of the community. and was known to help out anyone in need. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects and was always willing to offer good advice. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Service of memory Saturday, July 8 at 1:00 pm at Greater Grace Temple 380 W Leffel Ln with Rev. Randy Scott, officiating. Family will receive friends 12:00 pm until time of service.
