Regan, Jess and Caitlin, please know you're not alone. Though you're walking down a path that is new and different, you've got each other and while not physically present, your parents will always be there when you need them. Just reach inside to that place where you store all you hold most dear and they'll be there. I'm praying for each of you.

Dear Regan, Jessica & Caitlin
I wrote one out earlier to you girls, I guess my computer skills need work as it did not go thru. I wanted you to know that all the stories about your Dad from his siblings are all true, but maybe stretched a little. One thing about you dad, He was never the typical little brother. If you wanted a side kick Fred was it. I don't think there is one of us that can say that Fred was a pain, for he buddied up with all of us. He was a side kick for us down here and now he can resume his title with Steve and Cathy. I love all three of you. My deepest sympathy for your loss. We all share this with you. If there is a canoe trip down the Miami to spread your dads ashes, Karen and I would like to join. If you need me please let me know.

Dear Regan, Jessica and Caitlin, You can probably remember back of all the stories told about your Father. There were some good ones and probably some whoppers, but if you ever needed a side kick, Fred fit the bill to a tee. From the time when he was young, Fred and I would sit on the bank fishing, he would sit there acting like he was enjoying every lie I was telling him. Then I passed him over to his brother Ken, where they enjoyed the Shingling beer all night TV series. Then Ken passed him over when he left for Florida, to the two girls, and when they started their lives Fred was passed to Bruce. I know in my heart today, Fred was the best side Kick you could ever wish for. He is in my heart and I will miss him terribly.

I became friends with Fred at the FOE in Tipp City. He had a great sense of humor and I will miss having conversations with him. We spoke often about his love of Panama City Beach, Florida. Just a few days before his passing, I told him my wife was having a baby in February. He told me about the birth of his daughters, and his affection for his children. We laughed together, as he tried to stress me out. He was a great person, that everyone will miss.

I am very fortunate to be have been one of many students that Fred has touched with his knowledge and skills over the years. His patience and understanding has reached deep within me and many, many others. He believed in me at a time in my life when I didn't. To this day, I am still blessed to be able to utilize the skills and morals that he taught me years ago. To all of the family and friends, I am sorry for your loss. (1988-1989 JVS Autobody)
