Gregory OSBORNE Obituary
News Death Notice
OSBORNE, Gregory Allen age 59, of Dayton, departed this life on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born on July 28, 1954 to Robert and Emily Osborne. Greg was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the Holy GGhost, and a member of Bethesda Temple for 17 years. He was involved in several prison ministries and most recently, employed at UMADAOP until his health failed. He was preceded in death by (1) sister and a brother. Left to cherish precious memories: his devoted wife of 17 yrs., Charlene; son, Michael (Jaime) McKinney; parents, Robert and Emily Osborne; (3) grandchildren, Isabella, Antonio and Brennan; (3) brothers, Roderick, Harold and Michael (Robin), all of Dayton, OH; (2) sisters, Pamela (Gary) Francis of Centerville, OH and Mary (Wayne) Thomas of Clayton, OH; (2) sisters-in-law, Diane and Helen Lewis; (2) brothers-in-law, Timothy and Rodney (Delores) Lewis; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., TUESDAY, July 22, 2014 at BETHESDA TEMPLE APOSTOLIC CHURCH, 3701 Salem Ave. Bishop Craig High, Sr. Pastor, with Pastor Darryl Graves, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment: West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave. On-line condolences may also be sent to the family at www.thomasfunerals.com

To the Osborne family (my church family)I know there is tears, then laugher and saddest. He is at rest now that old body will received a new body. I only can imagine him laying in the hospital praising and 2 Peter 1:10 brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. I wish my mom and I could be there with you celebrating his home going, however you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sis Charlene; I remember you asking Mama about Greg and his ways, after laughing, we both said "that's Greg, take him all or none". You said I'll take him, and you did. You took care of my brother and he took care of you. You made him so happy. To my other mom & dad, you know how much you all mean to me, I've lost another brother but God has gained a superior angel that WILL praise Him forever and ever. We will all see him again by and by.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Osborne family: Elder Gregory wasnot only my brother in Christ Jesus but he was a witness to my salvation and a long time friend of our family..Gregory was truly one of a kind. I loved Praising God and Dancing in the Holy Spirit up and down the isles in Church and the Prisons..He will truly be missed..Dad Mom Osborne,Charlene and to the whole Family, l am praying much for you all doing this Sweet Hour of your healing ...Allowing the Joy of the absences of Gregory's presence is in the presence of our Lord..
