Lail, Helen M.

Helen M. Lail, born on December 25, 1921, in Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Helen was a devoted wife to the late William Henry Lail and the cherished mother of Carolyn Lail and the late Bill Lail. She was also a loving mother-in-law to the late Olin White Quillen and a caring grandmother to her late grandson Duane Quillen and his partner Elsie. Her deep love for family was evident in all she did; she treasured each moment spent with them.

Throughout her lifetime, Helen had a myriad of hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid quilter and found great satisfaction in her craft. Helen also loved to crochet and play cards, often gathering with friends and family for cherished game nights. Her commitment to Miami Shores Baptist Church and community was a testament to her generous spirit, where she frequently engaged with fellow parishioners.

Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Quillen-Moore and her husband Arthur Moore, alongside her grandchildren: Steve Quillen and his wife Deborah, Kelly Quillen and his wife Lori, Casey Long and her husband Jimmy, Jeff Lail and his wife Cheryl, Steven Lail and his wife Terese, Susan Oberschlake, John Montgomery and his wife Ivory, and Lori Montgomery. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren who adored her: Grant Quillen and his wife Hannah, Luke Quillen, Kody Clark, Raven Herchenbach and her husband Devin, Elizabeth Long, Ashton Wooton, Dan Quillen and his wife Sarah, Brittany McCarthy and her husband Michael, Cody Lail, Grace Wajert and her husband Kevin, Clayton Lail, Jeffery Lail, Helena Lail, Leo Lail, Lucia Lail, Christopher Oberschlake, Taylor Oberschlake, Tori Brock, Amanda Heckendorn and her husband Eric, Josh Brock, and Annie Walker. Additionally, Helen is honored to be remembered by several great-great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on February 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Doug Surber, both held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. Helen will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio.

Helen M. Lail's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who are grateful for the time they shared with her and the love she gave so freely. She will forever be remembered for her kind soul and indomitable spirit.
