News Death Notice

MAXWELL, Huston Age 87 of Dayton departed this life peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was a retiree of WPAFB after 33 years of service. He was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church as an Elder, served on the Building Committee, Cub Scott Leader, Evangelistic Committee, Men's Council and Culinary group until his health failed and a former member of the Spur Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Mattie; sisters, Mary C. Clemens, Lula Eberhart and brothers, Cleveland Watts, Jesse, Sess, Lesley, Lloyd and Troy Maxwell. Huston is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Helen; son, Huston Paul; daughters, Marsha M. Jones and H. Elaine (Bryant) Lewis; sisters, Delores Stevenson and Ina Groggins of Kellyton, AL; grandchildren, Quaina Maxwell of Tallahassee, FL, Huston Paul II of Dayton, Jackie (Tony) Cooper of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Alex of Tallahassee, FL, Alina & Amber of Dayton and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M. SATURDAY, April 26, 2008 at TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 3211 James I. Davis Way (Lakeview Ave.), with Pastor Lutrelle Rainey, officiating. Viewing 9:00 A.M. Saturday; the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be held 10:00 A.M. MONDAY, April 28, 2008 at the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas Funeral Home, 4520 Salem Ave. On line condolences may also be sent to the family at www.thomasfunerals.com
