In over 12 years of perusing the offerings at Crossroads Coins, I thoroughly enjoyed the kinship felt in meeting Jack Reames who was a fellow paratrooper, a fellow, former member of the 82nd Airborne Division, and a participant in one of the most storied exploits in military history-the airborne assault that spearheaded the "Great Crusade" to liberate Europe during the Second World War. Thus, it is no surprise that Crossroads is a patriotic and veteran-friendly establishment under the careful conservatorship of his son, Bart Reames. I was always greeted with a smile and, more often than not, left with a darn good deal! Jack and Bart's business ethic is nonpareil and they created the archetype of an American family business at Crossroads. Patriotism and support for the troops isn't a hollow platitude at their establishment, for I received several packages in Iraq from them including material sent by Jack's 82nd Airborne chapter. Jack's service during the Second World War is best summarized in the following words: "Freedom lives, and through it, he lives-in a way that humbles the undertakings of most men." Airborne forever!
