John MANTIA Obituary

MANTIA, John 82, of Beavercreek, was called home by our Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. John waited in loving accord for his deceased wife for 35 years and the family announces the Joyful Hope of their reunion in Christ. John was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Kauffman) Mantia; parents, Ann (Tatone) and Tony Mantia and brother, Tommy. Surviving are sons, Mark and Matthew Mantia and daughter, Maria Mantia; grandchildren, Carolyn Mantia-Rieder and Joseph Rieder, Erin and Daniel Schoenfeld; and two great-grandsons, Cody and Benjamin. Also surviving are beloved brothers; Tony, Mike, Ralph and Jerry Mantia, numerous brothers and sisters-in law, cousins, nieces and nephews. John retired from Lofino's, Inc. where he enjoyed many long-time friendships. He participated in D.T. Partners Golf League and the annual Sons of Italy Bocce Classic. He loved golf outings, sailing, running, tennis and Siesta Key beaches in his younger days. John will be in our hearts and memories, please join the celebration of his life and faith. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 411 E. Second St., Dayton. Family will greet friends 9:00 am until time of Mass at 10:00 on May 16th at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Reis Legacy Center Meyer-Boehmer Funeral Home.
