Joseph Beyerle Obituary

BEYERLE, Joseph Mathew 10/26/1930 to 01/05/2019 Joe was born in Cincinnati to Joseph and Apolonia (Zaharias) Beyerle on October 26, 1930. Growing up in Northside and Westwood he had fond memories of St. Patrick School, working for the Westwood YMCA and being a proud 1948 graduate of Elder High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant at Camp Pendleton from 1951-53. He was married to the love of his life, Joan Mae Beck in 1951. Their 67 year marriage was blessed with five children, thirteen grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. They traveled throughout the United States and Europe, but their greatest joys were at family celebrations. His wife and family were his most prized gift. He will always be known for his "laugh". He could light up any event with his laughter and appreciated how it could bond people together. He was a charter member of St. Charles Parish. He was instrumental in establishing the school's initial CYO program. Joe was co-founder of Centerville Insurance Agency in 1972. His common statement was, "I am an agent for the CIA." An active member of the Centerville community, Joe was very involved with the growth and popularity of the Americana Festival. In 1996 he was the Grand Marshall of the parade. He coached baseball for the Washington Township Little League and sponsored Centerville High School's Summer League Teams. He loved being Santa Claus for the city of Centerville for many years. He officiated high school football from 1960-1990 and was named to the OHSAA Officials Hall of Fame in 1996. He was a founding board member of the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association in 1973 and played a major role in establishing the Dayton area High School All-star Football Game. His proudest moment was originating the Dayton Area Family Rosary Rally in 2005 with Bob O'Connor. Unofficially, he was known as the "Mayor of Hyde Park Drive", his residence of 56 years. Joe belonged to the St. Charles Knights of Columbus and to the Dayton Agonis Club. A man of strong faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, his enthusiasm, common sense, outgoing personality, love of people, and get things done attitude will long be remembered. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Roman and Helen Beck, Thomas and Mary Helen Fehring and his daughter in-law, Cindy Beyerle. He is survived by children, Paul (Mary), Dave (Elleen), Cathy Southam (Richard), Pete (Heather), Jim (Melanie); grandchildren- Jessica Miller, Courtney Harris, Ross Beyerle, Dan Southam, Jordan Richardson, Patrick Beyerle, David Southam, Taylor Mackell, Emily Beyerle, Alex Beyerle, Matthew Beyerle, Luke Beyerle, Peyton Beyerle, and great- grandchildren- Brooke Miller, Roxanne Marshall, Rosemary & Nora Mackell, Paxton Richardson. He is also survived by in-law's Tony and Carol Seiwert, many nephews and nieces, friends and his church family. Friends and family may visit from 4-8:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, OH 45429 and from 9:30am-10:30am on Saturday, also at church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am on Saturday, followed by interment in David's Cemetery. We were so very sorry to hear about Joe. He was our neighbor for over 20 years on Hyde Park. We appreciated the neighborhood gatherings he organized, and visiting his house on Halloween (his big animal feet were always a big hit!). We were blessed knowing Joe and send our sincere sympathy to the Beyerle family. L Snyder, L Hartley, J Hartley

Joe was an inspiration to all. His deep faith, love of people and love of life was contagious. He was a true disciple who brought about the Kingdom of God here on earth. His legacy will live on in his beautiful family and his impact will remain a part of our hearts. There is no doubt that the Lord received him at the gates with, well done my good and faithful servant.

Prayers to all of the Beyerle family. He was one of a kind and such a kind man. He always had a positive attitude and couldn't help but make you smile. I liked to give him a hard time about wearing his purple Elder tie...he loved that tie.
I think my Tim is happy to see him again.

Dear Paul and family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy.
Whenever I said,"It's good to see you."
Joe would say, "It's good to be seen."
He was a good friend to my Dad, and I know how much he will be missed.
Your friend,
Becky (Albers) Hewitt

Joe played Santa for our two children and promised one a cat for Christmas. So . . . a couple days later, Santa delivers a cat under the tree. His laugh was infectious, his soul was so sweet, and we will miss him. The world will miss him. Joe, thank you for your service, and until we meet again on the other side.

Most personally to Paul and Dave: What a great guy your Dad was. I enjoyed seeing him occasionally, typically involving a Wash Twp Foundation gathering. He always remembered me from our earlier years, and I remember his officiating some of our Alter HS games. God bless your soul, and a life well lived, good sir.
Randy Borgert.

WOW! What a beautiful and precious man! Our thoughts and prayers are joined with many others for Joe's family at this special time of sharing. We had the honor of meeting Joe through our daughter, Lisa Singer, at St. Charles Catholic Church where she and her husband Ted were Music Directors for over thirty years. Joe also was our Insurance Agent until Jim assumed that role upon Joe's retirement. We fondly remember Joe's role as Santa at the Christmas Eve Mass each year, and always enjoyed his singing "Little Drummer Boy".May the love and peace of our Jesus be with Joe and his entire family now and forever! We remember Joe as being as out going as he is loving. A heart as big as his smile (and his laugh) and vice versa. May he rest in peace as a good man of both faith and family.
