I am very sorry to hear of the passing of my friend Larry. I could write a book on my experiences with the Brown Brothers - Larry, Phil, Ronnie, and Harold. I worked for Clark Soil and Water Conservation from 1979 - 2010 and as far as I can remember Larry and crew installed most of our excavation projects during that time. Our office is full of engineering plans that the Browns have installed for Clark County. These projects were Waterways, Surface Drains, Open Ditches, Ponds, Retention Basins, Subsurface Drainage, Spring Developments, and numerous other land grading projects.
I loved it when the Browns would get a contract for one of our projects. He was one of the most prompt of all of our contractors. You did not have time to goof around on his dime. One of the most hard-working of any man I ever met. He also was a man of his word. If something was wrong, he would fix it. I along with many landowners in Clark County really missed him when he retired. He would still stop by the office sometimes for assistance on lot grading and other things. I was always glad to see him. However, I still harbor some resentment against his brother Phil for sending me out on a pond project in Clifton. Thanks Phil. This is a very funny story.
I was sorry to hear of Harold´s passing; I did not know that one. How time flies. That was one of the fastest 31 years of my life. Larry Jr., Shawn, and Shane: Your father was a great asset to this county and to me. I will never forget him. Hope your lives prosper. God Bless. Sincerely, Craig M. Isaac former Drainage Coordinator for Clark County.
