To Mrs. Gloria F. McKinney I would like to say first and foremost that there is no greater gift from God than the joy of a child so I would like to thank God for giving you such a beautiful Angel. I first met Tonia when I moved on Swinger in 1993 and she welcomed me into the neighborhood and instanly we connected. Although we lost contact with each other, but when we would see each other it was like we never lost touch of each others friendship talking about the good old days and fun we had on Swinger. I can remember how we would call each other back and forth when Jerry Spinger would come on and when I was pregnant with my son she asked if she could be his Godmother. When I went into labor she helped me through my contractions over the phone. When he was born she gave him the name Man-Man decorated his room for me I could'nt have asked for a better Godmother or friend. I must say Tonia was a very T-Terrific, O-Outstanding, N-Nice, I-Intellegent, A-Awsome true, gifted, spirited, loving, well-dressed, fun, caring, devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. I lost my daughter Britney Curtiss on Feb. 20, 2006 whom Tonia adored very much, so I do feel the pain that you are going through remember you are not alone you will always and forever be in my prayers. To Lynntonio and KaTonya (Nanny) remember all the good times and motherly love that came from your angel look out for each other you know she would'nt want or have it no other way, let nothing change keep on doing the things that she would want you all to do take one day at a time for she is longer in pain she is in a better place remember you all to will always be in my thoughts and prayers forever. So I'll end this with a special thought. IF TEARS COULD BUILD A STAIRWAY, AND MEMORIES A LANE, I'D WALK RIGHT UP TO HEAVEN AND BRING THEM HOME AGAIN. With all my love.

This is to Mama Gloria, Vet, and the entire McKinney family. God has a special place for his angels. And yet he has called another home. I hope you find it in your heart to know that your angel is perfect in every way now. No more pain, no more suffering. She is with her king, as we know her, well dressed, beautifully made up face, hair in tact. Our Angel-Diva in every way. The lord says, "we cry at births, but we rejoice in death, for our suffering is no more." Mama Gloria, you were with her every step of the way, GOD BLESS YOU.
Ton, I always admired you. You were and still are beautiful. Although we got to know each other over nails, it was always a pleasure to be in your presence. I will miss you. My sincerest condolences to the family. May you have peace.

REMEMBER
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

You Are My Friend---

Until we meet again... you are my friend.

Days, weeks, months, go by...you are my friend.

Trials, tribulations, all God's works, being your friend and losing you for now, Wow does it hurt.

Only temporarily will we be apart, and although you are gone Latonia you are embedded in my heart.

This process hurts oh so truly, but I know and have faith you have taken on other duties.

So for now I will only say see you later, knowing you are doing righteous labor.

I Love You forever and always your God Sister!

To VET, I did't know your sister, but I knew you. And to know, like, love or care for someone, is to feel the pain or grief in which they feel. I can relate to what you and your family are going through right now, because I just went through the exact same thing a few months ago, and one thing is for sure, she is in a much better place now with no more pain and suffering. Sometimes we just have to trust GOD because he doesn't make mistakes. I want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I only met your Mother once, but thru our mutual friend Michelle Simmons I felt like I've known her much longer. It's hard to say goodbye to such a powerful force but the goodnews is we will see her again one day in due season, I will constantly keep this family on my prayer list. Please always honor the legacy she's left so that she won't seem so far away.

LaTonia, my memories of you will last for eternity. When I sat with you at Hospice, I was comfortable being with you. Your laughter and your smiles uplifted me. I couldn't imagine what you were going through. I remember your face after I did my poetry for you, it was amazing. I can't believe you are gone. You are one special young woman that I will never forget. I love God so much for bringing you back into my life before you left for good. I thank you for the courrage that you showed during this very rough time in your life. You were indeed a brave young woman. To the family and friends It's gonna be alright. Ton is in a better place now, since she's with God.

Auntie Tonia,
Our hearts are deeply sadden by the lost of you and although we didn't want you to go, God needed you more.....for he doesn't make mistakes. We know that you are resting in God's loving arms and we will miss you very much. And there's one thing for sure, we know that one day we will see you again. So we won't say goodbye.....we'll say see you in the morning.
We love you.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2-3

There are No words that can express how we feel at this time. Some feelings of joy, because “T” will no longer be in pain and some feelings of anger, because God called his angel home, way too soon! However, you do have memories, pictures, a little of “ T” in each of you, and the Love that “T “ had for each one of you to hold on to. Continue to trust and depend on God during this time.

To Momma Gloria, Vet, Tonio, Katonia and Henry. It deeply saddens me to lose my God sister, Tonia. But i know she is in heaven in her new body, pain free, watching over us and saying these words to us:

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.....
but first of all, to let you know I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here, I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you...in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you what God has planned.
But if i were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er. I'm closer to you now, than i ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb; but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night..."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet sombody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free, remember you're not going....you're coming here to me.
