Hank & I send our deepest sympathy on the passing of your husband, father, grandfather, Gr. grandfather and friend. At the same time we are rejoicing that Dean is basking in the presence of our wonderful Heavenly Father and rejoicing with the angels in his heavenly home. Our prayers for each one of you is that God will fill that Husband, Dad, Grandpa & Gr. Grandpa void in your heart with more of Him. Dean was a special man and our lives are richer for having known him. We thank God for that privilege.

I would like to thank all of you for honoring my dad, and for the love you have poured out towards our family. I will miss him terribly. But I know he is rejoicing in Heaven and is "catching up" with Grandparents, brothers (Tommy) and so many other loved ones that have gone on ahead. I would like to share with you a devotion dad wrote in his book with Dutch, it is the very last devotion in the book, I read it at his memorial service, for those that could not attend it is....”Death: Just Another Birth"
Paul announced his own home-going to Timothy--and then went on to speak of the better things that would be after his death.
Just before he died, John Knox said, "Live in Christ, live in Christ, and the flesh need not fear death."
Death is just one of life’s changes. After nine moths of protection on our mother’s womb, we leave on rather involuntarily terms--not that the decision was ever ours. So it is with death. And in between the two, we pass from one stage to another. When we step through death, we will find ourselves secure in his everlasting arms. Death is only another birth.
A few days before his own death, F.B. Meyer wrote a very dear friend these words, "I have just heard, to my great surprise, that I have but a few days to live. It may be that before this reaches you, I shall have entered the palace. Don't trouble to write. We shall meet in the morning."
Dear friend, be blessed in knowing there's a crown over there that will fit no head but yours.
And so I leave you with my favorite quotation of John Bunyan concerning the blood-washed pilgrim at the end of his journey: “The pilgrim they laid in a large upper chamber, facing the sun-rising, The name of the chamber was Peace."
Dad ended his devotion with this poem:
Someday the bell will sound. Someday my heart will bound.
As with a shout, that school is out,
And, lessons done, I homeward run."
I know Dad was looking forward to heaven as he wrote this, now he is there!
Thanks again, Deana

Jodie, Tim & Carol, Dutch & Ceci, Deana & Tim, (plus, Rachel, Josh, Sarah, Hannah, Ashley, Zach, Maddie, & Lily). You've not just lost a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather...all of us who had the privilege of knowing the wonderful Dean Sheets (we for thirty+ years), have lost a 'True Patriarch' in every sense of the word - physically, mentally, and emotionally. However, it is his spiritual legacy that will reign on eternally. Always able to maintain his keen sense of humor and wit; he mentored so many who were honored to sit under his teaching, preaching, and instruction. I know we and many, many others who knew him well, will never forget his story from Psalm 144 "I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a PSALTERY...will I sing praises unto thee." :) We are saddened by his passing, but rejoice with you in his Homecoming Celebration, Greg and Julie Caudell & family

Dear Tim, Dutch & Deana,
I was saddened to read of your Dad's passing. I pray that the Lord will comfort you as you go through this valley that I have already traveled. Both our Fathers are now rejoicing around the Throne!!!!! You all have a great legacy and your Dad has passed the torch and his mantle of anointing on to you. What a heritage!!!! With my deepest sympathy, Debbie McEwen ([email protected])
