Dear Carla: Please know that from far away I,and I am sure so many others, are saddened by your loss. Mark was a kind, caring, and wonderful man whose integrity was an inspiration to so many. He embodied what it meant to be a team player and what it meant to live his oath of helping people... be they patient, staff, faculty student or friend. In his quiet way he inspired and encouraged so many to be better that they were and you can take comfort in that legacy. I wish I could be there to help celebrate a life well lived but I know your family and Dayton friends will be comforting.

Carla and family,
I was saddened to learn of Dr. Mark Clasen's passing before his time. He was a very kind and caring physician, who made many home visits to his older patients in their 80's and 90's and was, as well, an advisor and father figure to many medical students. I worked for him for six years, when he was the Chair of the Dept of Family Medicine, and will always remember him fondly for his kindness to everyone and his humor about life! His Light will now shine in Heaven. My deepest sympathy.

Dr. Clasen was one of my favorite professors at Wright State. 20 years later, I still can remember his voice when I need to do " a backwards saunter" out of a room. My prayers to his family.
