Marthena F. SAYERS

SAYERS, Marthena F. 90, of Springfield passed away November 23, 2018 at Wooded Glen. She was born July 27, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Homer and Cora (Bowers) Lawson. Marthena was a pianist at West Enon Church of God. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, volunteer at the hospital and President of Fort Nightly. Survivors include daughters, Linda (Jim) Whitt of Springfield, Darlene (Gary) Montieth of Indiana, Joyce Standard of Springfield and Mary Sayers; one son, Dale (Diana) Garrison of Springfield; one brother, Lamar (Ruth Ann) Lawson of Florida; grandchildren, Amanda (Andy) Simpson and Kathleen Francis and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kermith Garrison; second husband, Paul Sayers and brothers, Charles and Larry Lawson. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 12 pm to 2 pm in the West Enon Church of God, 4800 Snider Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324. A celebration of Marthena's life will begin at 2 pm with Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Enon Church of God.
