I miss all of you so much already! I walk by 225 and get such a sad feeling in the pit of my stomach. You are a wonderful family and such truly nice people. Everyone in your family took such kind and loving care of Mary Fran. Please find comfort in the knowledge she was so proud of all of you .

My Mother, Beata Ander Mackay, also known as Betty Jane when she was young, went to school with Mary Francis Canny. I even have some photos from when they were in High School in Dayton, Ohio. My Mother always spoke very kindly about her friend and she must have done so often enough that I am familiar with her name, though I never met her. My condolences.

We saw a double rainbow both the day my Dad died and then the day of Mom’s passing. It is just simply significant so I wrote a poem to commemorate both

The Double Rainbow

And then there were the rainbows, two that we could see
They came from out of nowhere and in a sweet epiphany
We knew that they were special, these rainbows side by side
How curious they came to us when both our parents died

They seemed to us a symbol of their passage to Gods love
The colors blazed a pathway as they settled up above
Mom is one with Dad now as it’s always meant to be
United with their loved ones for all eternity

And in those final hours reaching out for her
The thoughts of how I’d miss her would always re-occur
But as I felt her spirit find its ultimate release
I find comfort in the rainbows, a special kind of peace

I know her soul went straight to heaven, I know it didn’t roam
As she took her special journey, her sentimental journey home

Mary Fran

Mary Fran is gone now
For her no more earthy woes.
She’s drifting up to heaven
‘Cause that’s just how life goes.

Behind are all her children
Grand and Great-grand too.
They’ll live their lives in her memory
Because that’s what families do.

Thoughts of her will linger
Through every passing year.
Stories at family gatherings
For all her kin to hear.

Her body was aged and tired
Life got too hard to carry on.
But there’s no need for sadness
Now, Mary Fran is again with Don.

With love,
Jack Colpas
