ACKMAN, Michael D. Age 70, of Wayne Township, Butler County, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1947 in Hamilton, Ohio and lived in this area all his life. He was an electrician and welder for McGraw Construction, then for the State of Ohio in the Department of Transportation as an Operator #2, retiring in 1984. He also was involved in farming for Gerber Farms. Michael was a member of the Jacksonburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed helping family and friends and repairing their yard equipment. Preceding him in death were his parents, Floyd and Bertie (Beckett) Ackman; two sons, David "Bubba" Ackman and Michael "Jamie" Ackman; one granddaughter, Megan Nicely; and two sisters, Dorothy Leeds and Norma Roberson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda (nee Caskey) Ackman; two children, Debbie Hale and Tonya Duff; nine grandchildren, Michael, Dougie, Jonathan, Jessie, Brittany, Mary Ellen, Katie, David, Jr. and Nicole; one sister, Phyllis Ackman; and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris King and Pastor George Reynolds officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio.
