Norma ASBURY Obituary


News Death Notice

ASBURY, Norma L. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with alzheimers. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 20, 1937 in Donnelsville, Ohio to the late Carl Wornstaff and Betty Wornstaff (Sudduth). She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Wornstaff and Robert Wornstaff; nephews, Little Richard Wornstaff and Ricky Wornstaff. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gordon Asbury; three sons, Stephen Burks (Connie), Robert Burks (Juanita), and Michael Asbury (Christina); one sister, Jeannie Ronk (Jerry); one brother, Richard Wornstaff (Fay); grandchildren, Matt Burks (Kathy), Nick Burks, Brittany Burks and Eric Barker, along with niece, Denise Rush. She was a member of the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle and a devoted Christian. Special thanks to Hospice of the Miami Valley and the staff of Liberty of Beavercreek, especially Carrie and Tammy. Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. on June 27th, 2014 from 10-11am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439) with services immediately following at 11am. Services will be conducted by Pastor Timothy Livingston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SICSA at www.sicsa.org. To send a special message, please visit www.NewcomerDayton.com
