Oberlee Adams Obituary
News Death Notice
ADAMS, Oberlee T. Age 83, of Huber Heights, formerly of Kingsport, TN. passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Oberlee was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service, formerly was a golf pro in TN and attended First Baptist Church of Huber Heights. He is survived by his wife, Eva; son & partner, Larry D. Adams & Rohn Outlaw of Kingsport, TN; daughters & sons-in-law, Sandy & Wayne Thomas of Kingsport, TN, Sharron & Glenn Grogean of Englewood, Gayle & Denny Byrd of Huber Heights, Bennie Sue & Keith Walker of Riverside, CA; sisters, Lizzie Pierce Fox (Delbert) & Della Williams all of Chuckey, TN; grandchildren, Travis Hart, Brandie Moody, Jessica Buckner, Steve & Randy Grogean, Sean Powers, Heather Soliz, Aubrey Lovell & Jeremy Maltsberger; numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike with Pastor Robert Hooker & Pastor Sam Sampley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM Thursday until service time. Further services will be held at the Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport, TN with burial at Mountain Home Cemetery.

Oberlee, SIR! Lets acknowledge another of your many accomplishments. According to one definition of Patriarch, "The oldest male member of a group" (ADAMS), is a position you have held since the passing of your brother Roscoe when he died at 81. You held that position to the age of 83. That exceeds any other generation of our Adams family tree that I have been able to learn about. I wish your reign could have been longer, giving those of us who follow you a harder goal to achieve. By default I shall now replace you as the Patriarch. Trailing you by 13 months in age, with the help of my mothers genes, and no disrespect, I hope to break the record you set, as I hope those that follow me can break ours.
