Mom: Happy Mother's Day! This is a difficult time without you. I remember when you pinned a red or pink carnation on us for church on Mother's Day. Those colors meant your Mom was living. I dreaded the thought of wearing a white carnation one day, signifying your Mom had passed..
Thank you for the many Happy Mother's Day celebrations we shared & the strength I gained from the core values you instilled in us. When you recounted some of the hardships you endured throughout your lifetime, I felt blessed that conditions had improved significantly. Despite that, I knew when times did get rough, we had the upbringing to survive & thrive. My eternal love & appreciation to you, Mom.

Mama, the love of my life...
34 years ago my world was rocked the moment you passed. Not a day has gone by that I have not thought about you, loved you, and missed your physical presence in my life. I know that God said it was your time to go, however, it was entirely too soon for me to lose my Mama! I truly did not think that I could go on without you, but Daddy kept me close. He always appeared as if he knew that I was calling on you. But, I am reminded everyday that your spirit lives on, not only in me, in my two wonderful young men, your grandchildren, as well. I see and feel you and Daddy in them both. In fact, my oldest son has your one dimple in his left cheek, and my baby bakes from scratch just like you. I so missed and needed you when I had my children. I thank God for giving me the strength and wisdom to raise them with all the love, support, & spiritual guidance you raised me with. I would not be the woman I am today if it were not for you. You taught me to be a mighty woman of God. Yet, I am taking it one day at a time because it still feels like only yesterday you left us and went home to be with the Lord. I still get a little choked up whenever I think of you, especially now. Though, a piece of me surely went with you when u left, I find comfort and strength in reading the prayers that you wrote and studied everyday. They have helped me to hold on and stay strong. I pray that your spirit stays with me always. I love and miss you with all of my heart. Happy Mother's Day.
