News Death Notice

HUNSAKER, Oral Kay Age 94 of Kettering, Ohio died on July 19. Kay was a native of Mesa, AZ. He served 3 years in the National Guard and 3 years in the US Navy. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Mechanical Engineering, teaching there for one year. He moved to Dayton in 1957 working for Dayton Malleable Iron (Amcast Industrial). He received the award for Engineering Excellence from the Dayton Society of Professional Engineers and retired as Vice President of Amcast Industrial/Dayton Mallable and President of the Aluminum Group. Kay was also member of Pi Tau Sigma & Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineering fraternities. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church for over 50 years which he served as elder and trustee. Kay is survived by his loving wife, Jean, married 70 years, daughter, Marilyn Wightman (Greg) of Santa Fe, N.M., sons, Tom (Terry) of Springboro, OH, Bob (Scarlett) of Miami, FL and daughter in law Vicki Hunsaker of Columbus, OH. Seven grandchildren; Ben, Meredith, Philip, Lee, Lauren, Kelly and David, 4 great-grandchildren; Kinlee, Grace, Eva, Mia and many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his son, Bill Hunsaker of Columbus, OH, two brothers, Barry Jr. of Texas and Jan of Arizona and his sister Carolyn Ross of Utah. Survived by brother Mark of Washington. Visitation Saturday, July 30 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Service at 1 p.m. at Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or American Foundation for the Blind. Condolences may be sent to www.routsong.com.
