News Death Notice

SWALLOW, Jr., Raymond D. Captain USAF, age 39, of Miami Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Ray served his country in the USAF for 21 years. He was a strong Christian man and was a loving and devoted husband and father. Ray is survived by wife, Donna; daughter, Renee; son, Isaac, all of Miami Township; parents, Raymond and Christine; sister, Kimberley R. Scarponi (Kitt); nephew, Konnor; niece Kassidy, all of Maine, and numerous other relatives and friends. Ray was a true example of ministering to others and many have benefited from his willingness to help with projects around their homes. He had a magnetic personality and smile that lit up the room. Ray was an honorable man and will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Apex Community Church. Family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Dayton National Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made in Ray's memory to Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, Maryland, 20850. Arrangements in care of Meyer-Boehmer & Reis Funeral Home. We are so sorry for your loss. Raymond was a very proud man with a beautiful family and we know that this will be a long grieving process. We have found talking about our Alex has helped us in the healing and we hope maybe this will give you strength too. I am sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I worked for him for over a year and he was easily one of the best people I have ever worked for. He Is very intelligent, thoughtful and kind. I thank God for having the opportunity to meet Ray and I wish only the best for his family moving forward.

I was so very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. I had the privilege of working with him for several years. I found him to be intelligent, hard working, supportive, and a pleasure to work with.
