Reginald OLSON

OLSON, Rev. Dr. Reginald Dennis (74) of Monroe, Ohio, passed away April 23, 2017, following a February diagnosis of brain cancer. He had served as the Executive Director of the Campus Ministry Center at Miami University and was also a retired Professor of Sociology (Muskingum College and West Virginia Wesleyan College), ordained United Methodist Minister, social worker, mediator and conflict resolution professional, and activist/advocate for peace and justice. Reg was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He had lived with his wife, Barbara, in Columbus, Ohio; Evanston and Kingston, Illinois; New Concord, Ohio; Buckhannon, West Virginia; Cincinnati, Oxford, and Monroe, Ohio. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, May 20, at two o'clock, at Mount Pleasant Retirement Community in Monroe, Ohio. Reg is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Monroe, Ohio; three children, Beth Olson (Shelly Davis) of Milton, Massachusetts, Stephanie Kleinschmidt (Rick) of Sylvania, Ohio, and Jeff Olson (Gabby) of Vienna, West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Alex, Parker, Connor, Sofia, and Kendall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Reg's name to Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Evanston, Illinois), Mount Pleasant Retirement Community (Monroe, Ohio), Ohio Hospice of Dayton, or the charity of your choice.
