Russell Schenck Obituary
News Death Notice
SCHENCK, Russell age 60 of West Alexandria, OH died suddenly Mon. Aug. 17, 2009 in Fairborn. He was born in Dayton, OH on June 19, 1949 to Lowell and Virginia (Gibson) Schenck. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and had a Bachelor's Degree from Iowa Wesleyan. He had been employed by A-1 Sprinkler. He was owner of Schenck Fire Protection Inc., a member of the West Alexandria Lions Club, a West Alex Council member and was on the Village Planning Commission. He was a previous member of the TVS Athletic Assoc. and the TVS Track Committee. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ginny Schenck, West Alexandria, 3 children, Jason Schenck, Cincinnati, OH, Julie Schenck, Clayton, N. Carolina, Janelle (Bill) Hattery, Kettering, OH, his father, Lowell (Lois) Schenck, Brookville, OH, 2 stepchildren, Jason Woodard, Centerville, OH, Traci (Josh) Sagester, West Alexandria, OH, 8 grandchildren, Beau, Brianna, Allison, Marianne, Alexa, Rylee, Trey and baby Sagester, a brother, David (Margaret) Schenck, Arcanum, OH, 3 sisters, Shirley (Bill) Lutz, Miamisburg, OH, Sally (Larry) Bell, Brookville, OH, and Ellen Raby, Arcanum, OH, Ginny's parents, Bill and Shirley Kastens, West Alexandria, OH, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Schenck. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Sat. Aug. 22, 2009 at Salem Lutheran Church, West Alexandria, OH with Rev. Daniel Snider officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Fri. from 4-8PM. Donations may be made to TVS Track Foundation (P.O. Box 225, W. Alexandria, OH 45381), TVS Athletic Assoc. or the American Heart Assoc. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am truly sorry about the loss of your husband. I did not know the gentleman, however I work with your daughter (Julie) here at the hospital in North Carolina. I am Russell's cousin, Judy, from Iowa. When Russell came to Iowa to go to college we had just moved to Mediapolis, Iowa, which is just 22 miles from Mt. Pleasant, where Iowa Wesleyan College is located. We had always lived away from all our 42 cousins, most of who were in Ohio. It was so exciting to have a family member close to us because we usually only saw everyone once a year. Russell played footbal at Iowa Wesleyan and we enjoyed watching some of his games. Uncle Lowell, I love you and am so sorry for your loss and I know you and yoru family will miss him terribly. I had to smile after I heard he had gone to heaven because I saw a very happy Schenck reunion and Aunt Virginia was first to greet him. Ginny, I am so sorry for your loss. I will continue to pray for all of you and ask God to wrap His loving arms around you and give you peace. I'm sending my love to Shirley, David, Sally, and Ellen and your families.
