Sanford DAVIS Obituary
News Death Notice
DAVIS, Sanford Michael "Sandy" Age 76, a lifelong resident of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 18, 2016. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957, attended Ohio and Wright State Universities, docent for African American Museum, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Winn Davis; parents, Sanford W. and Rosalie Wood Davis; brother, Larry. Survivors include his aunt, Vernice Satterfield; daughter, Coranina Joseph; son, Wilson Winn Jr.; three grandsons, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Service will be held 11 am Monday, January 25, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church, 401 S. Paul Laurence Dunbar St. Rev. Xavier L. Johnson officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10-11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to Aunt Pat and family. We will miss June but the memories he left will always be with us. God has called another good soul to His kingdom.

The Class of '57 at Roosevelt has lost one of their finest classmates. Sanford was a standout in football, basketball and track and always made a difference. He will be missed.
