I just heard about Sheila passing away. When I attended Wright State University back in 1993 - 1995, Sheila was the first one to hire me as an actor. She was an amazing person and taught me everything I need to know about acting. We did work at the Human Race Theater and other community theater in and around Dayton. I love her and I am deeply saddened by the loss. I'm sending all my love and care to Buddy and Sheila's family and friends.

Shelia was blessed and highly favored by God. God used her life immensely to encourage and transform individuals one person at a time. She was anointed with power in her words and boldness in her demeanor to stand and demand change that will tear strong holds in racism, sexism and prejudiciness that block people from living there VISION of being in the ARTS of acting, dancing, singing, composing music, being a cheographer, it did matter what your passion was. She just wanted people to strive for EXCELLENT, to the depth of there SOULS.

Dear Steve and family,
One thing that stays with me is something my sibling told my cousin about her mother: as long as you are here, she will never be gone. Sheila will never truly be gone, she will always be with you. She also left an indelible mark in regional theatre, and she will always remain an inspiration to me.
Truly,

Shelia had a profound impact on my life in the theater. She was my teacher at Wright State and she cast me in my first Equity show at the Human Race, W;t. I loved her dearly and she was so understanding, always happy to answer my many questions and introduce me to writers, concepts, plays, etc. I am a theater director today because of her teaching and influence. It was such a pleasure to know her and I regret I didn't keep in touch with her. My condolences to her friends and family. She is treasured in my heart and is very missed.

I had the privilege of being taught by Sheila, and what an amazing teacher. I will never forget how encouraging and helpful she was to me as a student and an actor.
My heart is with her son, sister, and the rest of Sheila's loved ones. The world has lost a magnificent soul.

Sheila......a wonderful and talented lady. She could make you laugh because she always had something funny to say. Even without smiling there was always a glimpse of laughter in her eyes. Judy and son, my sympathy to you. So many people were touched by her intergrity, talent and wit. God's peace be with you.

Thank you Ms. Ramsey,
Thanks to you I didn't need Denzel Washington to introduce me to Fences and I didn't rely on TYLER Perry to spark my interest in for colored girls.
Your mark is an indelible one!
Thank you

I am heartbroken at the loss but so grateful to be able to say I was honored to know Sheila, learn from Sheila and love Sheila. From my youthful days in The Muse Machine to working under her direction in A Raisin in the Sun to just being able to call upon her for advice. You will be truly missed. My involvement with any theatrical production here on out whether as Director or Actor will always shine bright because they will be dedicated to you. Thank you for breathing the life of theatre and humanity to many.
Much Love

Sheila you were the light of my life. You made
laugh, and you never put me down. I still have the items you sent me, and I am so sorry that I didn't get back to Dayton to see you, and to laugh the way we used to over silly stuff. You were magic to me, and although I haven't seen or talk to you in years, you've always had a place in my heart. You have always been a dedicated person to the arts, and you shared your love with more people than you could count. You will always be in my heart dear friend, now you are safely in the arms of God. You touched many hearts, may God Bless and keep you in His Ever Loving Arms.
Love You! Gail Choice (Dippy)
