Family-Placed Obituary


WIMSATT, Thomas K. age 77, of Washington Township, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Tom was born on September 26, 1928 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Robert P. and Ethel (Smith) Wimsatt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Phillip, and his brother-in-law Milton Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Peggy A. (Fiorella) Wimsatt; his six children Thomas Jr. and his wife Joy of West Kinston RI, Sarah Fast and her husband Dave of Streetsboro OH, Grace Yarbro and her husband Eric of Douglaston NY, Jay A. and his wife Maureen of Vandalia, Theresa Pitner and her husband Andrew of Salisbury NC, and Mary Scott and husband Jeff of Beavercreek; seven grandchildren; Dominique Yasin, Jay Wimsatt Jr., Christopher Wimsatt, Rachel Wimsatt, Watson Pitner, Thomas Wimsatt, Hunter Yarbro; and numerous grand dogs; three sisters Emily J. Roberts of Belle Vernon PA, Roberta McGarry and her husband William of Chatham MA, and Betty Ann Keister of Westpoint CT; and his brother John C. Wimsatt of Cincinnati and friend Shirley Kibler; and his sister-in-law Patricia of San Antonio TX. Tom was a graduate of the University of Dayton, a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp, and retired from Shook, Inc. in 1988. Tom was a member of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., active in the Montgomery County Stroke Club, avid pilot and a member of the AOPA, and a member of the Church of the Incarnation. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL and from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2005 at the Church of the Incarnation, N. Main St. at Williamsburg Lane, Centerville, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to all the staff at Walnut Creek Nursing Center for their special care over the past seven years. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the charity of your choice.
