Barry Harm Obituary
Barry Gene Harm August 26, 1967 - January 23, 2022 Barry Gene Harm, age 54, of Kiron, Iowa took his life on January 23, 2022. Barry was born on August 26, 1967, in Denison, Iowa to Charlie and Nola (Ang) Harm. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron and later confirmed his faith at Bethel Lutheran Church also in Kiron. Barry graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1985. After graduation, Barry attended Western Iowa Tech and attained a certification in plumbing and heating. Barry devoted his life to the family business working alongside his father, Charlie at Charlie's Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed participating in local tractor pulls and was a member of the Kiron Fire Department. On August 27, 1988, Barry was united in marriage to Linda, the two later welcomed their daughters, Sydney in 1991 and Savannah in 1996. The couple later divorced. The two great loves of his life were his daughters, always rooting for them in all that they had going on. You could always find Barry in shorts and flip flops as long as there wasn't snow on the ground. He was constantly making others laugh with his witty jokes and contagious smile. Barry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed talking football with his son-in-law, Jesse, Steve & Kyle Schultz who were huge Dallas Cowboys fans; so you can imagine how those conversations went. He had a knack for collecting antiques of all kinds. Barry was a jack of all trades who enjoyed riding his motorcycle when time allowed. Some silent struggles leading up to his decision include addiction, chronic pain, health issues, and mental illness. The straw that broke the camel's back: loss of hope. If anyone is struggling, please don't stay silent. This event is the worst kind of death; the worst way to lose a parent, family member or friend. Barry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Those left to cherish his memories, are his daughters: Sydney Harm of Denver, Colorado and Savannah (Jesse) Preul of Boone; parents, Charlie and Nola Harm of Kiron; sister, Brandee (Steve) Schultz of Kiron and their children: Kyle Schultz of Kiron and Peyton Schultz of Kiron; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
