Lilith Ann Hansen Kruse was born on May 3, 1942, the daughter of Hugo and Leatha Hansen. She died January 13, 2016, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa at the age of seventy-three.
Lilith was baptized on May 24, 1942 and confirmed April 3, 1955, both at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lilith attended Gray Consolidated School until her Junior year, then graduated from Audubon Community High School in 1958. She moved to Des Moines and later came back to help her parents and work at the church. Lilith was united in marriage to Valgene Kruse of Charter Oak, Iowa, on April 22, 1962, and they were blessed with the birth of one son, Randy.
Lilith enjoyed helping Valgene work the fields in the spring and fall, and also had a garden of tomatoes and cucumbers. Her hobbies included bowling, playing cards and going with Valgene to farm sales. Lilith loved her family, especially her granddaughter, Jodee.
Lilith was preceded in death by her husband, Valgene; her parents; two sisters; Lehan; Margaret and her husband, Robert. Survivors include one son Randy and his wife, Dee; one granddaughter, Jodee; two brothers; Robert Hansen and his wife, Ruth; Norman Hansen and his wife, Roni; many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Kurt Kaiser was officiated the service and graveside rites held at the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison, Iowa. Organist Dianne Furne provided accompaniment for congregational hymns,"How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace" and " On Eagles' Wings." Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ronald & Faylene Paulsen, Dennis & Diane Sonnichsen, Alan & Linda Kuhlmann, Steve & Chris Christensen, Derek & Amanda Meyer, Wayne & Joann Elwell, Ervin & Marge Moeller, Bruce & Carol Meyer, Nieces & Nephews, Gloria Anderson, Darin Meyer, Bonita Boger, Janice Ferry, Bonnie Fisher, Linda Kruse. Pallbearers were Verdean Kruse, Burdette Vogt, David Hansen, Craig Hansen, Gary Hansen and Craig Miller. The family invited everyone to return to the church for fellowship and lunch provided by the Evening Guild and Hy-Vee.
The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
