Brett Brunner Obituary

Brett L. Brunner, 62, of Decatur, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at Envive of Berne. Brett, the son of the late Dwight L. and Judith K. (Williamson) Brunner was born on November 12, 1961, in Decatur. On August 20, 1983, he married Susan Drake.

Brett attended the Bridge Community Church and was a former member of Decatur Church of God. He had worked as a manager in the R & D department for Thunderbird.

Brett was a humble soul who always put others first. He made a mark on the sports field during his time at Adams Central High School, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. He was a big fan of IU basketball and the New York Jets. Brett found peace by the river in Pleasant Mills and with his family dogs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his kindness and spirit will live on in our memories.

He is survived by his wife, Susan "Suzy" Brunner of Decatur; 3 daughters, Brittney (Brett) Sprunger of Fishers, Elly (Ryan) Mendez of Decatur and Demi (Brandon) Voglewede of Ft. Wayne; a brother, Jeffrey "Jeff" (Jodi) Brunner of Decatur; a sister, Mia (Trent) Tumbleson of Monroe; 6 grandchildren, Rowan and Harlo Sprunger, Wren and River Mendez, Hudson and Palmer Voglewede.

A Private Graveside service was held in Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Rocky Evans officiating.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the St. Mary's Township Hall in Pleasant Mills.

Preferred memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
