Albert BACCINO Obituary
Albert John Baccino Age 73 of Kennett Square, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Christiana Hospital, Newark. Albert was born September 1, 1930 in Wilmington, DE to the late John and Lucie Leo Baccino. He was a graduate of Kennett High School, class of 1948. Albert served as a gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Albert was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Kennett Square, where he served as an usher for over 35 years. He retired from the DuPont Company, experimental station, in 1991 after 39 years of service. One of his passions was being a Pennsylvania Hunter Safety Instructor for over 35 years where he touched so many lives with his knowledge and skills in the field. He loved woodcarving, scrimshaw, playing harmonica, attending St. Anthony's Festival with his wife, Jean and sharing stories about his woodcarvings and trips to Okefenokee Swamp. He was a member of several organizations including the DuPont Fish and Game, Four Seasons Motorcycle Club, the Sons of Italy and the F. V. Leo Swim Club. He is survived by 4 daughters, Debra B. Northrup and her husband, Walter, of West Grove, PA, Cheryl A. McCarthy and her husband, Albert, of Kennett Square, PA, Karen A. Pilinski and her husband, Tom, of Landenberg, PA and Barbara A. Howard and her husband, Phil, of West Grove, PA; 1 sister, Marcelline L. Ciamaricone of Newark, DE; and 10 grandchildren. His wife of 49 years, Jean E. Bush Baccino, passed away in 2001. Family and friends are invited to attend Albert's Life Celebration from 6-9 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 and also from 8:30-9:30 am on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at the KUZO & GOFUS FUNERAL HOME, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," State & Meredith Sts., Kennett Square. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday at St. Patrick's Church, Cypress & Meredith Sts., Kennett Square. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, N. Union St., Kennett Square. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jean E. Baccino Scholarship Fund, c/o Kennett Consolidated School District, 300 South St., Kennett Square, PA 19348.
