Alfred Martin Obituary
Wilmington - Alfred F. "Fred" Martin, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2018 at Season's Hospice at Christiana Care. Born in Chester, PA, Fred has resided in Wilmington, DE for the past 62 years.
After graduating from Chester High School, class of 1943, Fred served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from Sun Oil in Marcus Hook after 40 years in the 1980's. In his earlier years, Fred bred and raced pigeons and also had a passion for horse racing.
In addition to his parents, Charles and Catherine Fedena Martyn, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Jedynski who died in 2012 and a brother, William Martin. Fred is survived by 4 children, Debby Martin, Sherry (Len) Thomas, Cathy (Mark) Pollock, and Fred (Kris) Martin Jr., 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, 10-11 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment, Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Troubadour ministries C/O Trinity Community Church, 6949 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707. www.troubaourministry.org

November 1, 2018 was when my dear Daddy passed away. I miss the way he teased me when we'd have a meal together , my Dad would stick his pinky finger out because I do that. Habit. He is so missed by all who loved him. I feel his presence everyday. What a special man he was. I love you Daddy❤. Give Mom a kiss for me

We were neighbors to the left of Fred and Marie in Pennrock. I always enjoyed talking with Fred by the fence and remembered that he always called my wife "Hillary". Condolences to the family of a great couple.

To the Martin Family,
Sincere condolences on the loss of your father. We were neighbors in the late 70's. Both your mom and dad were wonderful people. I remember when we moved to New Jersey that your mom gave me a slip of one of her plants and my daughter has that same plant now growing in her garden down here in North Carolina. You were indeed blessed to have had such loving parents.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially Freddy, Jr. who was a childhood friend of my children, Richie and Janet. We lived across the street on Laurel Drive in the White House with the pickett fence.
May God keep you in his loving care.
