Allan Wolfe Levy

Wilmington - Allan passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2021.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Allan was a proud graduate of Central High School, Temple University, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he taught for several years and served as an assistant professor of Pathology.

A brilliant physician, Levy practiced family medicine before becoming a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist. He was instrumental in bringing wound care to the State of Delaware, was Chief of Pathology at Riverside Hospital for many years, and served as president of the Delaware State Pathology Society for a decade.

A true renaissance man who loved learning and adventure, Allan was a pilot, boat captain of the Beagle, an avid reader and veteran traveler, a skier and tennis player. He had an amazing sense of humor and brought the gift of laughter to all who knew him. His greatest passion was his love for his family.

Allan was pre-deceased by his parents, Louis Levy and Sarah Berkowitz Levy, and his sister, Marilyn Gaev. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Levy; his daughters, Rachel Abrams (Michael) and Andrea Levy (Harold Lankenau); and by his beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Abrams and Gabriel and Skye Alea Lankenau. He lived a long and wonderful life and will live on in the hearts of his family and dear friends.

Services were private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Allan Levy's memory be made to the Siegel JCC, c/o Allan and Judith Levy Campus Program Fund, 101 Garden of Eden Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
