Margis, Sr.
Age 61, of Wilmington, DE, died on Friday, November 3, 2006, at the Christiana Hospital.
Mr. Margis was born on June 1, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Lucina (Cefferatti) Margis and John Nicholas Margis. Mr. Margis was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2005, after 20 years of service in Talleyville and Edgemoor. He was a 1963 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #191, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #148, and a member of the United States Bowling Congress. He was an avid bowler at Bowlerama, and Pleasant Hills, and he was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Ann Margis; his sons, Anthony M. Margis, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca and their daughter, Victoria Ann, Michael John Margis and his wife, Suzanne, and their sons, Jonathan Michael and Brandon Reynolds, Robert Anthony Margis and his wife, Melissa, and their children, Robert Anthony Margis, Jr., Colin Matthew, Alyssa Marie and Nicholas Bailey; his sister, Delores Sanelli and her husband, Joseph; his niece, Debbie; his nephews, Joey and Michael, all from FL; his brother by love, John Orisini and his wife, Bunny and their children, Kerri, Johnny, and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a casual gathering at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, Wednesday evening, November 8, 2006, from 6-8 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
