Cathy Elaine Smith Age 46 of North East, MD, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at home. She was a loving wife and mother who is survived by her husband of 28 years, Rickey Smith; 3 children, Jessica Smith, Rickey D. Smith and Timothy Taylor; and 1 godson, Ethan Warren, all of North East, MD. She is also survived by her parents, Victor and Mary Crain of Elkton, MD; 1 sister, Paula Bourkland and her husband, Martin of NC, and 3 brothers, Charles Kennedy and his wife, Karen of Elkton, MD, Steve Kennedy and his wife, Paula of North East, MD, and Tonto Kennedy of Rising Sun, MD; 20 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews. Cathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Smith, and her father, Floyd Kennedy. Cathy was concerned about the well being of all children and she opened her home and her heart to those in need. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at CROUCH FUNERAL HOME, 127 S. Main Street, North East, MD. Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm Thursday at the funeral home. The Reverend Conrad Cohen of the Church of the Atonement will officiate. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
