"Poor Ole Bob" was a great friend during the many years he helped us at the Bellanca Museum and we delighted in the wonderful New Year's parties that he threw. We missed seeing him in his later years. We treasure the many fond memories we have have him. Our sympathy and best wishes to his family.

I'm one of the Vawter cousins who would enjoy the company of Robert at yearly reunions of the Vawter Family. I looked forward to visiting with him each year. At one of those reunions years ago I put up a notice about a Will Vawter painting that I had seen for sale in Indiana. He immediately traced it down and bought it. It was an unlikely subject for Will Vawter, a painting of the Atlanta Ocean waves. I recently found out that the Brown County artists of Indiana would spend time at the shore in Massachusetts.

Heaven has gained a special man. Poor Ole Bob! He was a gentleman and a scholar, a friend and mentor, an advisor and a leader. Bob and my dad (Carl Carlson ) would study endlessly for the lodge chairs and he was always calling me mom after my dad passed away in 2015. His New Years Eve parties were memorable and full of laughs. Bob rest in peace and know you left an indelible impression on the world and to everyone you met.
