Daniel Louis Sekowski, age 64, of Elkton, MD, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005.
Born April 8, 1941 in Gallitzin, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Agnes Belkowski Sekowski. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Sekowski had been a driver for 18 years for Getty Refinery, and retired in 2003 from Penske Logistics. After retirement, he drove Bus CCPS 65 for J.R. Brown, a job he truly enjoyed. He was a member of both Immaculate Conception Church and St. Jude Church. Other memberships included Bishop Becker Council #2427 Knights of Columbus, Delmarva Emmaus, and Delmarva Chrysalis. Mr. Sekowski was a volunteer with Parish Outreach Program. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Sekowski's love for God and his family was very apparent in all he did. He especially enjoyed traveling, camping and the beach. He always took the time to help anyone in need, whether it was someone he knew or not. His kindness, love and generosity will be difficult to replace. He will be dearly missed by his wife, family and all those who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Morgan Sekowski; children, Trevlyn O. McClellan, III and wife, Michele, Elkton, MD, Denise E. Kennedy and husband, John, Gallitzin, PA, Daniel L. Sekowski and wife, Jennifer, Forest Hills, MD, and Antoni I. Sekowski and wife, Kimberly, Warwick, MD; siblings, Edwin Sekowski, Tallmadge, OH, and Roxane Hoffman, Johnstown, PA; and grandchildren, Trevlyn "Skip", IV and Samantha McClellan, Morgan and Delia Kennedy, Noah and Ava Sekowski, and Eleanor and Benjamin Sekowski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Sekowski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, August 13, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bow St., Elkton, MD. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Friday, August 12, at HICKS HOME FOR FUNERALS, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
Flowers are welcome; however, contributions may be made to the Parish Outreach Program, c/o the funeral home.
