Dominic Vincenti Obituary

Dominic Vincenti

Age 83, of Kennett Square, PA, died quietly at home with his family at his side. He was born in Philadelphia on April 27, 1927 to Domenico Vincenti and Anna Ferraris Vincenti , who immigrated from the Piedmont region of Italy. His family moved to Kennett Square where his father started a mushroom growing and packing business.

He graduated from Kennett High School and attended Pierce Business school in Philadelphia, and served for a short time in the army before returning to help his sisters, Josephine and Helen, operate their mushroom cannery. The three of them ran D. Vincenti and Co. and were well known for their various specialty mushroom products that were shipped around the world. He was affectionately known as the "mayor of Rosedale", the home of D. Vincenti & Co., where he spent most of his life. The three loves of Domenic's life were his family, his business, and music, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his children.

He is survived by three sons, Stephen of Miami Beach, FL, David and his wife Leora of Crozet, VA, John of Kennett, PA; his daughter, Margaret of Wilmington, DE, and former wife Jane, of Bethany Beach, DE.

The family wishes to thank Anna Castano, and John, son and brother, for their dedicated care over the last few years. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children, John, David, Margaret, and Steve as a wonderful and dedicated father. He will also be fondly remembered by Jane Errett Vincenti and Anna Castano and her children.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 12 noon to 1 pm, Tuesday afternoon, April 12, at the KUZO & GRIECO FUNERAL HOME, 250 W State St., Kennett Square, PA (phone: 610-444-4116), His memorial service will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be private. The family requests that gifts be made in his memory to: Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.

Dave, Margaret, Steve & Johnny,
I was so sad to hear of your loss. I know the pain you're in after losing mom & dad several years ago. This will be a difficult day for you but hopefully you will feel all the prayers being offered for you and the support and love of friends and family. I wish I could be there to support you today but am unable to make the visitation. I will always remember Dominick as a friendly, happy man that loved his family and put up with a lot of shenanigan's from the neighbor kids!!
