Donald Durnan Obituary

Donald M. Durnan

AGE: 62 • Newark

Donald M. Durnan, age 62, of Newark, DE passed away at home on May 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family following an over two and a half year battle with ALS.

Donald, born in Wilmington, Delaware, graduated from Christiana High School in 1973 and attended the University of Delaware. He worked at Chrysler Corporation until retiring in 2007 and then went on to work for Mumford and Miller Concrete for 7 years.

An avid outdoorsman, Donald loved hunting, fishing, crabbing and cooking amazing meals with and for his family and friends. Sometimes described as the life of the party, Donald loved spending time with his family and friends, telling stories and will be missed so deeply by so many.

Donald is survived by his wife of 38 years Gloria, his daughter Rachel Wissler and husband Daniel, parents Thomas and Frances Durnan, brothers Thomas Durnan (Patricia), David Durnan (Karen), Charles Durnan (June), his two grandsons Hunter and Noah, his beloved dog "Bandit" and many extended family members and friends.

A Memorial for Donald will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at The Christiana Hilton, 100 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Rd # 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
