Eleanor Paladinetti

AGE: 84 • Wilmington

Mrs. Eleanor Paladinetti of Murray Manor joined the lord in heaven on December 16, 2016 with her loving family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and son, Michael. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Julie), Mark (Beverly) and Dominic (Kathy); her sisters, Dolores Lapenta, Virginia Reverdito, and Jean Creedon; two brothers, Francis (Ruthann), David (Anita); five grandchildren, Renee (Gail), Blayne (Bailey), Amanda (Evan), Christopher and Derron a great grandson Johnathan; and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was involved with Holy Spirit School and Church in educational and musical programs throughout the years. Her greatest joys were family and music. She was our rock star. Eleanor retired from ICI and was involved with Little Sisters of the Poor (Jeanne Jugan).

Friends and family are invited to call from 5-7 at the Corleto-Latina Family Center 807 N. Union Street Wilm.on Thursday evening December 22. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, 9th and DuPont Street, Wilmington on Fridat December 23 at 10:00. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery in Bear at 10am on Tuesday December 27. I remember Mrs. P so well --she was my third grade teacher at Holy Spirit, but she was more than that to me. She was also our "music" teacher, as she played the organ at church and formed a children's choir there and ran the Christmas programs at school during that time. She saw a spark of the love of music in me when I was a little girl and fostered that love in me and I will be FOREVER grateful to her for that. And her loving and caring attitude towards all of us was almost like a mom away from home during the day. Much love and sympathy to you all during this time. Deepest sympathy to the family. Mrs. Paladinetti was a beautiful person. I remember she hated us playing chopsticks on the piano in the old church building where we use to practice at lunch time. I missed her when she took time off during my last year in the choir. She put on the greatest musicals of anyone I knew. She will surely be missed by anyone who knew her. MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.

My cousin Norn was my first piano teacher. From that initial Middle C to more intricate sequences of notes and phrases she coached me forward. Some 50 odd years later, I'm still sitting at the piano daily.

I grew up with Eleanor teaching music at Holy Spirit. I think my love of music came from her. She was my piano teacher too. She directed our choir and helped us to sing like angels. I haven't seen her in many years but when I think of her, there is always a smile in my heart. My sympathy to her boys and their families. She was one of a kind.
