Eric Kandrashoff, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in his home. Born in Daytona Beach, FL and was the son of the late Edward and Rita (Berggren) Kandrashoff. Predeceased by his late wife Ann (Caton) Kandrashoff and step-son Stephen A. Brooks.

He leaves a brother Keith and his wife Carol Lynn; his children, Kimberly, Tracey, EJ, Nicole and her husband Fabricio, Shawn and his wife Alicia, Alan and his wife Diane; his grandchildren, Jessica, Kelsey, Kolby, Mason, Sebastian, Salvador, Emma, Grant, Noah, Sarah, Andrew, Brittaney, Elijah, Zachary; his great-grandchildren: Colton, Gavin, Evangeline; and so many other close family and friends.

Eric was Retired Secret Service appointed to Uniform Division 121899 for 28 years and protected 6 of our former Presidents.

FAMILY was Eric's aka Pops and Gpa first love and priority. He showed this to Julia and his entire family every single day in the thoughtful things he said and did without even thinking about it. Love was not only full in his heart, it was an action to be lived. An amazing way Eric showed his love was being a dedicated caregiver for his mother during a long illness. His fur-babies Auggie and Cookie were also at the top of his list and they also were spoiled! He loved feeding his raccoons along with all the other wildlife in the yard. Eric was "old-fashioned" in his ways and firm in how he came across, but there was no denying how much he cared, unconditionally.

He loved going to the boardwalk and spending hours at the beach and eating Thrasher fries. Dessert first was a motto which was anything with chocolate and when it came to food, he'd never forget BACON.

He liked being on Facebook to catch up with family that lived around the country. Eric built a not only a house for he and Julia, but a home where family was welcomed with open arms. He would be sure to talk about his extensive train collection with friends and family. He enjoyed going fishing, to the casino, and playing candy crush as well. Eric absolutely enjoyed working outside with his flowers and he recently built a beautiful deck.

It doesn't matter the amount of time you spend with someone, but about how much you know that you were loved. Eric, in his own way, always showed you that you were loved.

Visitation will be held this Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE from 10 AM to 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the SPCA.
