Age 88, of Hockessin, passed away on November 21, 2009, in Christiana Hospital.
Mrs. Pilnick was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the family shoe business for many years. She was a founding member of what is now Temple Beth El in Newark. She was an avid golfer, walker, and student at the Academy of Lifelong Learning.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Pilnick and the devoted mother of sons Mark J. Pilnick and Steven J. Pilnick. She is survived by Mark and his wife Judith, and Steven and his wife Rhonda and their children Jessica Niehaus and Blair Robinson. She is also survived by her sister Ann S. Berkman. Mrs. Pilnick was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Fannie Sadowsky, and brothers Irving, Samuel, and Dr. Wallace H. Sadowsky.
The family wishes to thank the medical professionals who attended her at Christiana Hospital for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, at 12:00 noon from Schoenberg Memorial Chapel, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE, followed immediately by interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Collingdale, PA. Shiva will be held at the home of Mark and Judith Pilnick, 4907 Old Hill Road, Sedgely Farms, Wilmington, DE, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 24 and 25. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Mrs. Pilnick's memory to Temple Beth El, 301 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711, or a favorite charity.
