Fred J. Uiselt

Age 85, recently of Newark, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011.

He was the husband of the late Helen Sheesley Uiselt, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.

Born in Wheatland, PA on September 2, 1926, he was the son of the late Michael and Lena Uiselt.

Fred was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. He was a member of the VFW and the Moose Club. He played the guitar in his youth and later taught himself how to play the organ, which he loved to do for his grandchildren and friends. He had quite a stamp collection. Fred also enjoyed playing board games with the family, traveling, and was known to go dancing a few times a week.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Kirkland and her husband George; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Sue Horn; and his close friend, Janice Collier. He was predeceased by his son, Michael.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, at 3 pm at Newark Church of Christ, 91 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713. Interment will be private.
