Harry Murvin Obituary

Harry "Jamie" Murvin II

Wilmington - Harry "Jamie" Murvin II, 46, of Wilmington, DE unexpectedly passed away at his home on May 26, 2021. He was born on March 16, 1975 in Wilmington, DE.

Jamie is survived by his father Harry Murvin Sr, his mother Tersilla Murvin, his partner Jaclyn Harris, and his five-year-old son, James Murvin. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Harry and Evelyn Murvin, his maternal grandparents Louis and Frances Robino, and his uncle Louis Robino Jr.

Jamie was loved by many and his beautiful smile brightened and touched the lives of all who were fortune enough to see it. Jamie treasured his friendships as he did his family. His generosity of spirit and dedication to helping others was apparent as he would selflessly donate his time and energy to anyone in need. He had an immense heart and was loved by many people. Jamie adored and loved his mother and father so. Jamie and his mother Terri shared a love of cars and looking through car magazines and also enjoyed cooking holiday meals together. He was close to his mother as they shared a special bond. When he needed some direction or advice it was his mother that he sought out. Jamie also loved car racing and shared this passion with his beloved father. Jamie and Harry could be found together every year at the Indy 500 race on Memorial Day weekend. Jamie was also an avid Eagles fan dressing up in his Eagle jersey and hat while watching the game on Sundays with his father. Jamie and his father were bound by a deep abiding love.

Jaclyn was the love of Jamie's life. Jamie was in awe over their son and would often be found saying that James was his greatest accomplishment and the pride and joy of his life. Jamie was an avid cook and gardener sharing this love with James. He didn't like many of the vegetables he planted, yet each spring with James by his side he would cultivate a beautiful vegetable garden. Jaclyn and James were the beneficiaries of his amazing cooking as he always had dinner made for Jaclyn when she came home from work. Jamie, according to his son James was the "best fort builder ever" as he could turn an entire room into a magical place for his son. When they played Matchbox cars and trains together there was no time. Just a father and his son when time stood still. Jamie, the hero here in his son's life is now his son's angel in death. Jamie will be sorely missed by many.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday June 5, 2021 at Arcaro Funeral Home, 2309 Lancaster Ave; Wilmington, DE 19805. A service will take place following the visitation at 12:00 p.m.

Jamie was my first friend. He was my sister and I’s best friend. We lived down the street and he was truly the first friend of my life. We played Star Wars. We played Dukes of Hazzard. We played all sorts of stupid made up games filled with 80’s magic. We used to get in trouble because we would lose his action figures in the bushes...just being kids. We would go to his pop pop’s house behind his and get candy. Life was so simple back then. Life was so happy. Through all my years of life, I have never forgotten Jamie. I have never forgotten our childhood. I just heard of your passing today and my heart is aching. So many memories. I have always loved you. I have always let our friendship live in my heart. I will happily continue to do so. I am sure you touched many lives over the years. I will always feel lucky that I am one of those lives. So many hugs to his family and loved ones. He was a super special person.

Jaime was a beautiful soul

He touched many hearts and lives. He touched mine and will always be in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. I've known many who have left this world to soon. Yet I have wept for few. My heart and soul cry for Jaime and his family.
He is gone but never forgotten and I pray his soul is at peace and resting.
Much love Jaime.
