Jane Holland Obituary
Bear - Jane L. Holland, age 92, of Bear, DE went home to the Lord on January 16, 2019. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and tutored many children and adults through Project Assist of Delaware. Jane was an active volunteer throughout her life in Kindergarten reading programs, the Blue Rocks Women's Club, Boy and Girl Scouts, and as a Sunday School Teacher. She participated in the University of Delaware's Academy of Lifelong Learning for many years. Jane worked at Harvard University in student services before moving to Delaware 67 years ago. She also worked for the DuPont Company in data entry and at WSFS as a mortgage processor. Jane loved to travel with her sister Ann, especially to London. She was a kind and loving woman who will be dearly missed.
Jane is survived by her children: daughter, Judith Holloway and her husband, Joseph; her son, William F. Holland; and her four precious grandchildren: Tyler, Chris, Matthew, and Ashley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph William Holland Jr.; her parents, Harold and Susan Lacaillade; brother, Carl Lacaillade; and sister, Ann Dow.
Family and friends are invited to a committal service on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2 PM in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Jane's friends and the staff at the Active Day of Newark Senior Center and the DART Paratransit drivers.
