Age 86, died Monday, December 5, 2005, at Forwood Manor.
Mrs. Chipman was born in Springfield, MA in 1918 and resided in Lebanon, NH. She was a graduate of the University of Vermont where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Also, she was active in the Auxiliary of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Junior Board of the Medical Center of Delaware for 36 years and a member of the Association of University Women for several years. She enjoyed traveling, golfing and reading.
Mrs. Chipman was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Dr. Lewis Chipman. She is survived by her son, Bruce Chipman and his wife, Robin; daughter, Martha Vahey and her husband, Robert; Pam Chipman; her longtime companion, Dorothy Tyler; and grandchildren, Zachary, Erin, Andrew and Hannah.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2005, at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Friends may call on the family beginning at 2:30 pm. Burial will be private.
