So sorry to hear this! Hooty was the consumate jokester. He once got me to ask Jerry Blavat, "The Geater with the Heater", oldies DJ for a Hootie and the Blowfish song. What a terrible shame that he is gone!

Mikey, Bobby, Patty and Cathy, words can't describe the shock and sorrow I feel right now for losing John. He was fiercely protective over the 4 of you, and one of the truest friends I've ever had.
Some of my fondest memories in life involve the Hoots man, and I feel fortunate to have known and loved him.
For many years I was the 'photographer' for the famous Hooty /Buzzy Christmas card picture, and I think many would be surprised the effort John put into making those cards for his friends and family. I think I drew the line the year he wanted us up on the roof to take a picture of he and Buzzy sneaking down the chimney!
Our tailgates were always perfect when it was John's turn to host, and he always made sure we had the coolest banners to hang at the vet, even only for 5 minutes before they made us take it down. Hooty always included that life size Buzzy statue at our tailgates, and I can't tell you how many people came up to pet 'fake Buzzy' yet it was funny every time!
When Hoots went to Miami to watch Marino's retirement, he called so many of us to listen with him, I never had the heart to tell him I really couldn't hear anything, but that's the kind of friend he was, he wanted us to share that moment with him. Dan Marino lost his #1 fan...
I'll always remember his Christmas tree with a dolphins helmet being the only ornament, his crooked smile, his love for Genesis, his never ending supply of hoodies, and his extreme kindness.
Hooty was one of the best friends I've ever had, he will be missed by so many.

It saddens me to have lost a long time friend John "Hooty" as everyone called him, at such a young age. John has been part of our family for many many years. He spent many vacations together with the Staplefords, weekends at the beach and would never miss a party at mom and dad's.... He was a true friend. He was always willing to help anyone in need. And believe me when I say...He never forgot a thing!!! He could always remember something stupid you did in the past whether it was a year ago or 20 years ago and bust you about it....lol. He loved to humor people. Also we all can't forget how much he loved his dolphins...he was a true fan. Rest in peace my friend....
Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Hudak family and Barb. We will miss that smiling face. RIP John you will be sadly missed by all.

I am sad to hear of Johnny's passing. I grew up with John. Our families were neighbors when we were growing up. I went to school with John and Patty. We graduated together and hung out during High school, John was always a good friend. When ever we ran into each other he always smiled and hugged me. I know he will be missed. My Prayers to his family.

I am very sad to hear of John's passing. Growing up my family and his family used to be neighbors for a long while. We grew as kids and played in the streets out front of our houses..I went to school with John and we graduated together. I was also close friends with his sister Patty growing up. I'm so sorry for the Hudak family's loss. I know John will be missed he had a great personalty and smile. I know this because through out the years, when I ran into him he always smiled and hugged me. May You Rest in Peace John.
