Joseph Carroll Obituary
AGE: 64 • Millsboro
Joseph (Joe) John Carroll, Sr., died peacefully at his home in Millsboro, DE on April 20, 2015 at the age of 64. Mr. Carroll was born on August 28, 1950 in Wilmington, DE to his parents, the late William and Viola (Cannon) Carroll. As a USMC Veteran, he proudly served his country in Viet Nam where he was with the 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Joe was a painter by trade but was also know as a jack of all trades. Joe enjoyed spending time with family and friends but his true love was riding his Harley, Lucille.
He is survived by his wife Janet Carroll, children Jason, Joseph Jr., Lisa and Bill Martian and Shawn, all of Wilmington, DE. His sisters Theresa & David Veasey of Delaware City, Patricia Thorpe and Rose Marie Moore of Millsboro. Brothers William Carroll and Millicent of Stillwater, MN and Thomas and Sally of Wilmington. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephew. Joe is preceded in death by his wife Katie Randow and sister Mary Saunders.
Memorial service and burial will be held 11A.M. Tuesday, May 12th at the Veteran's Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701. A celebration of Joe's life will be held after the service at the VFW, 85 DuPont Rd., Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 75847, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements have been Bennie Smith Funeral Home 717 West Division Street, Dover, DE 19904.
