Passed away suddenly on April 12, 2008, at the age of 32.
Joseph was born in Chester, PA on June 10, 1975. He was a 1993 graduate of Concord High School. Joseph was a foreman for Breslin Contracting for over 10 years. He was an avid Notre Dame and Eagles fan. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, baseball, Nascar, going to the beach and watching American Idol and Hannah Montana with his children.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Emsley; brother and best friend, Jason and his wife, Rachel and nephew, Jason Jr.; grandparents, Joseph and Marion Newman and Lois Friel. He is also survived by his wife, Melanie and their children, Bryana and Tristan Friel. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Michael Emsley. He will also be missed by his roommate and good friend, Joseph Harry and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be offered at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE on Friday, April 18, at 12 Noon. Visitation will be held at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE from 6 - 8 pm, on Thursday, April 17th. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Tristan and Bryana Friel Memorial Fund" c/o Commerce Bank, 82 Christiana Rd., New Castle, DE 19720.
