Joseph POTTER Obituary

Joseph James Potter "JoJo" Mr. Joseph James "JoJo" Potter, age 40 of New Castle, DE, died on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at his home, following a long battle with cancer, with his beloved family at his side. Born in New Castle on August 27, 1963, Mr. Potter was the son of Donald B. Potter, Sr. and the late Helen Theresa (Karmanski) Potter. He was a contractor by profession and most recently worked as an operator engineer for Mumford and Miller Concrete. He had previously worked for R.E. Pierson Construction in NJ and for Greggo and Ferrara. Mr. Potter was a lifetime member of the Police and Fire Rod and Gun Club of New Castle and also enjoyed fishing, football, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends. A loving and devoted husband and father, he was well respected by all who knew him and will be truly missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his father; his wife, Anne Marie (Caporelli) Potter; 2 children, Joseph J. Potter II and Nicole M. Potter, both of New Castle; brother, Donald B. Potter, Jr. of New Castle; and sister, Helen M. "Sissy" Megginson and her husband, Charles, of New Castle; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, September 26, 2003, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, Wilmington Manor, New Castle, where friends may call after 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810; or to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
