Julia Bellman Obituary
Newark - Julia M. Bellman of Newark passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 1, 2018 at the age of 94. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Julia Duffy and was the second child of six children. Her parents and siblings moved to Newark in 1935, where Julia later met the love of her life, William Bellman. They married in 1943 and raised six children. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but what brought her most joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sisters: Catherine Lenoir (James) and Rose Marie Murphy and a brother, Joseph Duffy (Doris).
Julia is predeceased by her husband, William Bellman, sister Theresa Cooke, and brother James A. Duffy.
Family was the center of her life and she will lovingly be missed by her six children: William Bellman (Maryanne), Julia Greenplate (William), Michael Bellman (LuAnn), Collene Hudson (Steven), Gary Bellman, and Lorraine Grube (Paul).
She also will be lovingly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 9 to 10 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Ave, Newark DE, 19711. A celebration Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their support and loving care especially Tanisha our mother's nurse who guided us through our mother's illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas More Oratory.
