Lorne William Evans, age 83, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Newark, DE, died March 24, 2006.
Mr. Evans was an airplane mechanic with the Army Air Corps in World War II, and a founding member of both Bethany Baptist Church, of Newport, DE, and Friendship Baptist Church, of Glasgow, DE.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and David Smith, of Duluth, GA; sister, Eleanor E. Breasure, of Bethany Beach, DE; brother, Ralph Evans, of Mountainside, NJ; grandchildren, Tiffany A. and J. Patrick Moody of Buford, GA, and Tyler Smith, of Alpharetta, GA; great-grandchildren, Bailey Grace Moody and Lucas William Moody; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 12, at Chambrell at Roswell, 1000 Applewood Dr., Roswell, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park Dr., Ste. 115, Atlanta, GA 30329.
